Philip B. Dreiser

hilip B. Dreiser is a native of Iowa, and was born near Dewitt, Clinton county, where he lived upon a farm until a short time before he came to Redlands in January, 1888. For two years after his arrival here he was in the employ of J. B. Glover. The Redlands Street Railway Company completed its line to Highland avenue and began running a car on May 23, 1889. About six months afterward Mr. Dreiser was employed as driver and conductor, and has continued in the service of the company ever since. It is an interesting fact to note that no accident has ever happened on this line.

The Terracina and Redlands Railway Company, which built another street railway from Cajon street, west on Olive avenue to the Terracina hotel, commenced operations February 1, 1892, but the cars were withdrawn shortly after the Terracina hotel was burned, on April 3, 1895. The rails have since been taken up.
