
Eugene B. Cutts

B. Cutts is a native of Pittston, Maine, where he lived until the fall
of 1861, when he came to the Pacific Coast. From the spring of 1862 until
1891 Mr. Cutts lived in Carson, where he was employed in the United States
mint, and in Reno, Nevada. In 1882 he purchased eleven acres of the original
town plat of Redlands, of Messrs. Judson &
Brown. Mr. Cutts had the fourteenth choice of
location for which he paid the sum of ten dollars. The land itself at
that time was sold for $100 an acre. Mr. and Mrs. Cutts have resided in
Redlands since 1891.
